The company was founded by Thorkild B. Fransgaard in 1967, where he bought his former campus Fredbjerg forging and machine workshop. Later, the smith developed into a farm machinery factory, which today appears as a state-of-the-art factory with approx. 50 employees.
In the late 1970's, Fransgård, together with the Norwegian importer, developed a forest game that draws fired tree trunks to a passable road. This led to a rapid development which makes Fransgård today one of the world's leading forestry producers with exports to almost all of the world.
Over the years, Fransgård has invested heavily in the efficiency of the plant and today has a state-of-the-art factory, which, together with an innovative staff, is ready to develop together with the many export markets.
Fransgård has always been very internationally oriented, and today 80-90% of sales are exported.
